Emergency personnel responded to a reported cardiac arrest shortly before 2 p.m. Sunday and found Panettiere unresponsive at a residence where authorities said she had been temporarily staying. Resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful, and she was pronounced dead at 2:32 p.m., according to details from the coroner’s statement reported by ABC News.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office and Greenville City Police Department are conducting parallel investigations. Authorities have not announced a cause of death, and the coroner said additional studies are still required before a determination can be made.

The official finding at this stage is limited: she was found unresponsive, emergency responders attempted advanced life-saving measures, and the completed autopsy revealed no trauma that officials said contributed to her death.
