‘Camp Rock 3’ Brings the Jonas Brothers Back to Disney Channel 16 Years After ‘The Final Jam’
Camp Rock 3 premiered on Disney Channel August 13, bringing the Jonas Brothers back as Connect 3 alongside a new generation of campers and extending a franchise that last released a film in 2010.
The Camp Rock 3 Disney Channel premiere arrived August 13, bringing Joe, Nick and Kevin Jonas back to the franchise as Connect 3 more than 15 years after Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. Disney is extending the release to streaming on August 14, introducing a new generation of campers while reconnecting one of the company’s most recognizable music-driven properties with its original audience.
The third film shifts much of the spotlight toward younger characters while using the Jonas Brothers’ fictional band as the bridge between eras. According to Disney’s official synopsis, Connect 3 returns to Camp Rock after losing the opening act for a reunion tour and launches a search for the next performer to join them on the road.
Camp Rock 3 Disney Channel premiere revives the franchise
Disney formally set the August rollout earlier this summer, confirming through its official Disney+ press announcement that the film would premiere August 13 on Disney Channel and follow on Disney+ the next day.
The timing marks a substantial gap between installments. The original Camp Rock debuted in 2008, followed by Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam in 2010. The franchise became closely associated with the rise of both the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato during Disney Channel’s late-2000s era.
Disney confirmed the third film in September 2025, when production began in Vancouver. The company’s greenlight announcement established that the Jonas Brothers would reprise their roles as Shane, Nate and Jason, while also serving as executive producers alongside Lovato and other members of the production team.

A new generation takes over Camp Rock
The new story centers on several younger campers competing for the chance to become Connect 3’s opening act. Liamani Segura plays Sage, while Malachi Barton portrays Fletch. The ensemble also includes Lumi Pollack as Rosie, Hudson Stone as Desi, Casey Trotter as Cliff, Brooklynn Pitts as Callie and Ava Jean as Madison.
Sherry Cola joins the franchise as Lark, while Maria Canals-Barrera returns as Connie Torres. Disney’s official Camp Rock 3 media kit provides the film’s current synopsis and publicity materials.
The structure gives Disney a way to preserve the original franchise identity without making the third movie entirely dependent on characters introduced nearly two decades ago. The returning performers establish continuity, but the central competition creates room for a younger ensemble to carry much of the new story.
The Jonas Brothers return as Connect 3
The return also arrives during a renewed period of collaboration between the Jonas Brothers and Disney. In an August interview published by The Walt Disney Company, the brothers reflected on their earlier Disney years and the role projects such as Camp Rock played in developing their experience in front of the camera.
Joe Jonas described the original franchise as an important project for the group beyond their recording career, while Nick Jonas said their Disney work helped build his interest in acting and storytelling.
The group’s relationship with Disney has expanded again in recent years through multiple projects. That broader partnership gives Camp Rock 3 a different context from a standalone nostalgia revival. It is part of a larger period in which the brothers have reengaged with the company that played a major role in their early careers.
Camp Rock gets a modern reset without abandoning its history
The creative challenge for the third film is balancing two distinct audiences. Disney has a generation of viewers who remember the original movies, but it is also introducing characters intended for viewers who may have first encountered the earlier films through streaming rather than their original Disney Channel broadcasts.
The promotional campaign has emphasized that balance. Disney released new music and younger cast members while repeatedly foregrounding Connect 3 and other ties to the first films.
Entertainment Weekly’s August 13 feature on the film also focused on the effort to combine references to the original movies with a story structured around new performers.
That approach gives Disney room to test whether Camp Rock can function as an active franchise rather than solely as a nostalgia property.
What comes next for Camp Rock
Disney has not announced a fourth film or confirmed any additional feature-length continuation beyond Camp Rock 3. The current release therefore should not be treated as confirmation of a larger movie series.
What is confirmed is that the franchise has returned after a 16-year gap between films, with the Jonas Brothers again serving as one of its central connections to the past. The August 13 Disney Channel premiere established that return, while the August 14 Disney+ rollout gives the sequel a broader streaming audience.
Whether the new campers eventually carry Camp Rock beyond this installment will depend on decisions Disney has yet to announce. For now, the third movie represents a rare revival in which several of the performers who helped establish the original property are returning while Disney simultaneously attempts to hand much of the story to a new generation.
